HP Pavilion 23-b030 All-in-One Desktop

HP Pavilion 23-b030 All-in-One Desktop

I picked up one of these recently for the owner of one of my clients.

The monitor's display is beautiful, and the machine is quite peppy. The built in wireless is more than adequate as a network/Internet connection. The wireless mouse and keyboard were a plus, just be sure to find the USB dongle they communicate through and plug it into one of the USB ports. It is small and easy to miss in unpacking if you are not looking for it.

For an office environment, these "all-in-ones" make for a convenient workspace without cables running from the desk top to the knee hole, or beside the desk. That eliminates a good bit of the mess of a normal desktop unit.

Despite warnings, I found Windows 8 to run much older software just fine (Office 2003 installed and ran with no problems, for example). If you remember the Desktop Tile, the Windows Key, and get a handle on what options pop up when you move the mouse to each corner, Windows 8 isn't as different as you may fear.

Recommended.

Review about HP Pavilion 23-b030 All-in-One Desktop

Just received this today, Windows 8 leaves a lot to be desired, if the computer had been a touch screen it might have worked a lot better. It freezes up on full screen youtube videos, you can't close the window, you can't get out. Alt-Ctrl-Del doesn't work. All I have been doing since I set it up, is having to Power it off to get it to reboot out of one error, or frozen screen. I did not ever think it would be this bad. Even trying to just register the computer I had to hard reboot 3 times. Don't waste your money! Don't buy a computer with Windows 8 unless it has touch screen. To add insult to this, HPshopping.com sells this for $536.00.
